Tutman Compliance Analyst
Location: Chichester based office. Hybrid or remote working will be considered.
We have an opportunity for a Compliance Analyst to join our Tutman team. Tutman is a host Authorised Fund Manager who, as part of its business model, outsources critical functions to third party delegates.
Job Description:
The primary function of the Tutman Compliance team is to oversee the compliance of Tutman’s delegates through their operation of effective systems and controls, in conjunction with the wider Tutman team and other group functions (e.g. CASS, Finance, IT and Risk). This oversight takes place through our robust initial and ongoing due diligence and breach management process.
Tutman Compliance look to provide assurance that effective systems and controls are in place (and take appropriate action where required) to ensure we can collectively demonstrate to regulators and Depositaries/Trustees that Tutman and our delegates are compliant.
Responsibilities will include:
- Perform compliance monitoring on our delegates and internal first line controls.
- Ensure that the Tutman due diligence plan and associated due diligence documents are kept updated and that any delays to review completion or set actions are appropriately reported.
- Contribute to monitoring and interpreting regulatory change notices and good practice guidance through the review of bulletins, completion of CISI professional refreshers and attendance at meetings, workshops and conferences. Help to maintain the regulatory tracker and liaise with the first line Tutman teams to determine applicability and ensure that procedural amendments are considered.
- Provide timely governance reporting into committees/Board.
- Participate in audit reviews performed by third parties (e.g. Depositaries/Trustees) and other external meetings where required.
- Assist with breach management and the complaints process to ensure that any investor impact is identified and promptly resolved.
The person:
To be considered for the role you will have proven financial services experience working in a Compliance Monitoring or advisory role and have a good understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, industry best practice and an understanding of risk management, both in a regulatory and a wider business context. Experience of interpreting regulatory change notices and providing advice and guidance to first line functions is required for the role.
You will be educated to an A Level standard and hold an industry qualification (e.g. Investment Operations Certificate with another relevant compliance/risk qualification preferred) whilst being prepared to gain further relevant qualifications.
You must have practical experience of undertaking due diligence or audit work with the ability to review outsourced functions, give negative and constructive feedback to appointed parties and to participate in projects.
You should have an understanding of Collective Investment Scheme operation including investment management, fund accounting, transfer agency, custody and depositary functions plus experience of FCA Sourcebooks and their application to a Collective Investment Scheme Operator.
You can explain complicated matters in plain language and interpret regulatory change and its implications for the business. You have great attention to detail, good organisation skills and can manage multiple tasks in tight timeframes. You are professional, build rapport easily and take ownership of work.
You are keen to learn and understand processes and are prepared to undertake continuous professional development, including industry qualifications.
It will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to complete satisfactory reference checks (including, but not limited to, a DBS check, financial checks and employment references).
